Guarantees & Color Policy
Open the box. Inspect every tile. Judge us.
Wrong? We reprint and reship. Free.
If anything about your set isn't right — a smudge, a misprint, a crack, a face that came out looking less like Aunt Linda and more like a Renaissance ghost — tell us within 14 days of delivery and we'll reprint the affected tiles and ship them to you completely free. No return required. No interrogation. No “well, actually” from customer service.
We put our name on the line every time you put your heart into a set. We're not about to let a bad print ruin mahjong night.
The full policy
Every Snarky Tiles set is inspected before it ships, but we're humans running a UV printer, not robots running a factory. If your order arrives with any defect — printing errors, smudging, misalignment, damage in transit, or anything else that keeps you from being 100% happy — contact us within 14 days of delivery and we'll reprint and reship the affected tiles (or your whole set, if that's what it takes) at no cost to you.
How it works:
- Email us at hello@snarkytiles.com within 14 days of the delivery date shown in your tracking.
- Include your order number and a photo or two of the issue. We use them to train our team and tune the press so the next table doesn't get the same tile. It's not a trial, and you're not being asked to prove anything.
- We reprint and ship your replacement within 5 business days, on us.
You don't need to return anything. Keep the tiles, use them as coasters, whatever brings you joy.
Lost in transit? If tracking shows the carrier lost your order before it reached you, tell us. We'll handle the carrier side and reprint and reship your order at no cost to you. We may ask for a little information while we look into it, but we're not going to make you fight the carrier over a box we shipped. If tracking says delivered and you can't find it, let us know quickly and we'll work with you and the carrier to figure out what happened and make it right.
One honest exception: the Happiness Guarantee covers our mistakes. If a tile prints exactly as designed but the design itself has a typo (it happens — “Happy Birthay” is a real tile someone will order someday), that's not a free reprint. But it's not a dead end either: our Tiles for Life promise covers it. We'll reprint the corrected tile for just the shipping & handling — currently $4.99 per tile, same as any replacement.
And one thing to expect, not to worry about: your screen makes color with light, our printer makes it with ink. A printed tile reads a little softer than the glowing version you approved, and true neons can't be printed by anyone. That difference is physics, not a defect, and our Color Policy spells out exactly what to expect before you order.
Read that as a heads-up, though — never as a loophole. If a color genuinely misses for you, tell us inside the 14 days and we'll adjust it and reprint. The whole point of the guarantee is that you end up 100% happy with your set. We'd rather print it twice than have you play on tiles you don't love.
Your set outlives the couch it gets lost behind.
Here's the thing nobody tells you about a $500 mahjong set: eventually, a tile goes missing. It falls behind the couch. The dog decides 8 Bam looks delicious. A guest “accidentally” pockets your best joker.
With most sets, one lost tile means your whole set is retired. Not ours.
We keep your designs on file for as long as your Snarky Tiles account stays open. If any tile is ever damaged, lost, or worn out — this year or fifteen years from now — we'll print the replacement tile itself at no charge. You just cover shipping & handling, currently $4.99 per tile.
The fine print, in plain English
- Covers the original purchaser and anyone they gift or hand the set down to. Your kid inherits the set, they inherit the promise.
- Replacements print on our current tile blanks. If we've changed suppliers since your original order, we'll match your set as closely as possible and tell you up front if there's any visible difference.
- No limit. Lose one tile or lose twelve, this year or every year — every replacement costs only the current shipping & handling charge (today, $4.99 per tile). If your golden retriever ate a whole rack, we've got you (and we'd love to see a picture of the culprit).
- Typos and design changes count too. Spotted a typo after your Happiness Guarantee window, or just want to update a tile? Send us the fix and we'll reprint it for the same shipping & handling charge.
- The one thing that ends it: closing your Snarky account. That deletes your designs and the print files behind them, and we can't reprint what we no longer have. Keep the account open — it's free — and the promise keeps going.
How it works: email hello@snarkytiles.com with your order number (or the name and email you ordered under — we'll find you) and which tiles you need. We'll send a payment link for shipping & handling, and replacement tiles ship within 5 business days.
About color (or: why your screen is a beautiful liar)
Your monitor makes color with light. It's literally glowing at you — that's why neon pink looks neon on your screen.
Our UV printer makes color with ink on acrylic. Ink doesn't glow. It reflects light, like everything else in the physical world. That means some colors that look electric on a screen simply cannot exist in print — true neons, fluorescents, and ultra-saturated brights are physically outside what any printer on Earth can produce.
What this means for your tiles:
- Colors will be close, not identical. We color-calibrate our equipment and print in rich, accurate color — but expect your printed tiles to look slightly softer and warmer than your backlit screen.
- Neons and fluorescents will print as their nearest rich cousin. Screen neon pink becomes a vivid magenta-pink. Highlighter yellow becomes a strong sunny yellow. Still bold — just not radioactive.
- Pearl tiles have their own opinion. Our pearl acrylic has a subtle shimmer that shifts with the light, which can slightly change how colors read. That's the whole point of pearl — it's a feature, not a flaw.
- Your screen settings matter too. Two phones side by side will show your design differently. Neither one is “the real color” — the tile is.
Normal screen-to-print color variation isn't a defect and isn't covered as one. But here's our promise: if a color genuinely misses the mark for you, contact us within your 14-day Happiness Guarantee window and we'll work with you to adjust and reprint. We'd rather print your set twice than have you play with tiles you don't love.
The questions you were about to ask.
What if my set arrives with a problem?
Tell us within 14 days of delivery and we'll reprint and reship the affected tiles free. No returns, no hassle. We may ask for a photo or two — that's so we can train our team, not so we can argue with you. That's the 100% Happiness Guarantee.
What happens if I lose a tile in three years?
We keep your designs on file for as long as your account is open. Email us, cover shipping & handling (currently $4.99 per tile), and we'll print you a replacement. Damaged, lost, chewed, mysteriously vanished — all covered, for life. (Close your account and we delete the files, which ends the promise — so keep it open. It's free.)
What if I made a typo in my design?
If we printed exactly what you approved, the free Happiness Guarantee reprint doesn't apply — but Tiles for Life does. Send us the corrected design and we'll reprint that tile for just the shipping & handling, currently $4.99 per tile. Your set is never stuck with “Happy Birthay.”
Will the colors match my screen exactly?
Close, but not pixel-perfect — screens make color with light and printers make it with ink, so printed colors run slightly softer. True neons and fluorescents can't be printed by any printer. If a color truly misses for you, your 14-day Happiness Guarantee covers a reprint.
How durable is UV printing? Won't it wear off?
Every tile gets a primer made for it, UV-cured ink, and a UV-cured gloss varnish on top that seals and protects the artwork. We tested it the way a set really gets treated: washed, jumbled together, rubbed with hand lotion. The tiles washed clean. The only thing that took artwork off was steel wool, and that damaged the tile too. And because every set carries our Tiles for Life promise, if a tile ever does wear out, we replace it. You're covered either way.
Do I need to return the bad tiles?
Nope. Keep them. We just ask for a photo or two so we can train our team and fix whatever caused it.
What if my package never shows up?
If the carrier loses it before delivery, tell us and we'll reprint and reship your order at no cost to you. We deal with the carrier; you don't. If tracking says delivered but the box is nowhere to be found, tell us quickly and we'll work it out with you and the carrier.
Convinced? Good. Your tiles are waiting.
Happiness guaranteed, replacements for life, and colors we're honest about.
